No charge on cash withdrawal from other bank ATM machine w.e.f. April 1 2009: RBI

On April 1 2009, onwards there will no charge cash withdrawal from other bank ATM machine, thanks to a directive by the Reserve Bank of India.

Banks have been asked by the regulator not to charge any fee for cash withdrawals using ATM and debit cards issued by other banks from April 1 onwards.

However, banks can still charge extra for services such as cash withdrawal with the use of credit cards and at ATMs located outside India.

• Fill out the application form online and proceed to make an online payment.
• Your application will then be directed to a third party payment gateway site
• You will then submit your payment through net banking.
• The amount to be paid is the Cost of Application Form plus the Booking Amount.
• The site will confirm your payment by generating a transaction ID.
• You will be then guided back to the Tata Nano website where a Unique Identification Number (UIN) will be generated.
• Booking is now complete, you can take a print of receipt, an email is sent to you with the receipt

The Tata Rs 1-lakh car is here! And it's called the Nano! 

The booking process and other details will be announced on March 23, 2009.

Bookings can be done at Tata Motors dealers and at select State Bank of India
branches.

A Business Standard had said that Tata Motors could start limited commercial production of the Nano from alternate locations so that the first car could roll out towards the end of March 2009 from Pantnagar till the mother plant comes up in Sanand near Ahmedabad.

The State Bank of India will begin accepting bookings at about a 100 of its branches and then later increase the number to a 1,000 branches, the Economic Times said.


Once you have booked the car, the waiting period is likely to be long because of two primary reasons: huge demand and limited production.
